Bono & Sting

Printed in 2001, this work takes the form of a faux till receipt, conceived as a playful collaboration between Mancunian artists David Mackintosh and Graham Parker. The piece, titled ‘Anecdotal Receipt in Lieu of Payment,’ satirizes the transactional nature of the art world by issuing a tongue-in-cheek record of imaginary purposes and dubious cultural exchanges. It’s both a conceptual joke and a subtle critique, printed with the banal authority of everyday commerce.
